Point Force Traffic: Now offering Traffic Mounted Attenuator (TMA) Services

Article content

TMA's are a critical component of work zone safety, providing a physical barrier between live traffic and roadside workers. By absorbing the impact of errant vehicles, they protect both our crews and the travelling public in some of the most high-risk traffic control environments.

This expansion reflects our continued investment in the safety and capability of our operations. As demand for higher-tier traffic management solutions grows across Victoria, we're committed to meeting that demand with qualified personnel, the right equipment, and the standards our clients expect.

If your project requires TMA deployment, get in touch with the Point Force Traffic team to discuss how we can support your next job.

Team Spotlight: Stephen

This month we sat down with Stephen. We discussed his introduction to the construction industry, the qualities he looks for in a candidate and his newfound love for The AFL & The Hawks.

How long have you worked in this industry, and what drew you to it?

I started in the construction industry 3 years ago with Point Force. Before coming to Australia I had no experience in construction whatsoever. I came here wanting to try something completely new, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made. I threw myself into it and quickly found that I genuinely loved being on site. The variety of labouring work, the physical nature of it, and the fact that no two days are ever the same kept me hooked from early on. What started as trying something new turned into a career I'm really passionate about.

What do you find most rewarding about your role at Point Force Group?

Without a doubt, seeing the people I've hired grow and progress within the construction industry. There's something really satisfying about bringing someone on who's brand new to the trade, and then watching how quickly they find their feet, build their confidence, and start to genuinely love the work. Construction can be tough, especially when you're starting out, but seeing people rise to that challenge and thrive in it is something I never get tired of. It's a big part of why I enjoy what I do every day.

What are the key qualities you look for in a candidate?

For me it always comes back to attitude. Skills and experience can be taught, but someone who turns up with a great attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine eagerness to get stuck in will always stand out. Construction rewards hard workers who are open to developing themselves, and the people I've seen progress the fastest in this industry are almost always the ones with the right mindset from day one, not necessarily the most experienced.

Why is now an exciting time to be In the Victorian construction industry?

Across Melbourne and regional Victoria, the volume of commercial developments, high-density residential projects, and housing estates pushing through into construction is keeping crews busy and demand for skilled labour consistently high. For workers with the right tickets and experience, the opportunities are there.

Tradespeople and labourers who are reliable and site-ready are in a strong position right now. Across all of our divisions, we're placing people into projects with solid hours and reputable builders who want workers they can count on.

Outside of work, what are a few things people might not know about you?

I'm a big sports fan & since moving to Australia I've got well and truly into AFL and have started following the Hawks, so I'm slowly learning what it means to ride the highs and lows of a footy season! I also love going out to eat and trying new restaurants. At the moment I'm on a bit of a personal mission to find the best Sunday roast in Melbourne I've tried a few good ones so far but I'm convinced the perfect one is still out there. Any recommendations are very welcome.
